The screening of Unnatural Causes will be playing at the Rainier Community Center every Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 pm until the 20th of August, and at the Southeast Seattle Senior Center every Monday from 6 to 7:30 pm until the 18th of August. The purpose of these screenings is to raise awareness of the inherent health issues that arise from economic and racial inequality, and to disuss solutions to these risks. The event is free, and is sponsored by the Healthy and Active Rainier Valley Coalition. The Healthy and Active Rainier Valley Coalition is a partnership Aimed at building and strengthening the Rainier Valley by increasing the health of its residents through culturally relevent promotion of physical activity and nutrition. A reception will follow every screening, and you are encouraged to attend as often as you can to take part in the discussion.

YMCA A.K. Guy Award was established in memory of A.K. Guy, a community
leader and dedicated volunteer, and is presented annually to recognize
volunteerism in our community.
Colleen Willoughby is being
honored this year for her work with many organizations, including
CityClub, Washington Women's Foundation and the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
Which Way Seattle? Series is an ongoing series of civic dialogues about local and political affairs that directly impact Seattle's African-American community. The CD Forum is please to host a timely panel discussing black elected officials and their impact on their constituents, specifically the Black community. We will explore whether or not Black representation makes a difference in the many issues faced in our community and address how racial politics impact a candidate's platform.
