About Puget Sound Off
Puget Sound Off is a website that was created in Seattle Washington at the Metrocenter YMCA by the Seattle Youth Commons.
The Seattle Youth Commons is a group of 18 Puget Sound area teens who came together in the summer of 2007 to build a community based website. The project intends to inspire the youth of Seattle to become active in their communities.
Puget Sound Off now has a Youth Council that works to manage the site, add hot topics, ensrue diverse usage, promote PSO, and come up with great visions for the future.
We hope that you will enjoy this site and that it serves its purpose by improving the quality of your life, and giving you the self-confidence to let your voice be heard.
Why is it important?
PSO is an opportunity to apply the principles of citizenship and media literacy to empower young people in the region of Seattle to express themselves, connect to local resources, share values and concerns, and engage with each other and policymakers in seeking solutions and taking action.
